I like working at the YMCA because I enjoy working with and for the good people who work here.
My philosophy about my job is just about the same as I try to live my life by - take pride in myself and what I do, treat other people's concerns and needs with the same respect I'd like to receive myself. I enjoy knowing people and having them enjoy knowing me.
I've had so many great experiences here. But a couple stand out in my heart. First, while shopping out of town, I heard a young child yelling my name. It was a young girl from our childcare shopping with her dad. We talked for a while. Second, not long ago a fellow employee told me with tears in his eyes that I had all the good qualities as his father who had passed away, and that I reminded him of his father.
It's amazing how you can make people feel, be it good or bad and most of the time you are unaware how you have touched their lives. I'll always remember these great experiences thanks to working at the Y.
My qualifications are of life's teaching. I do my job to the best of my ability and try to hold high standards for my work and myself. Always with the needs and desires of our members as my main priority.
